Another Trek

Trekking on, we decided to take another hike around St. Paul's Bay. We wanted to get a better look at St. Paul's Island and the area surrounding it. It's a great scenic hike with some incredible views and beautiful blue water.

Below you can see St. Paul's Island. Saint Paul was said to have shipwrecked here. You can see the statue of Saint Paul from the photo, erected in 1845.
The island has been uninhabited since a farmer left his small hut decades ago.

Trekking

We've been doing a bit of trekking and hiking lately. We found this first hike near Xemxija with Sammy. We heard of there being some ancient ruins and some type of freedom trail very near our apartment. It was an interesting and beautiful hike, through possible ancient bathhouses, farming huts, and wooded trails.

Our next hike was around the Dingli Cliffs, a spot we knew we couldn't leave without seeing. We walked a long stretch atop the cliffs and saw some amazing views!

On the hike we made some new sheep friends and fed them some grass. They were very appreciative, curious, and friendly.

A view of the very small, uninhabited Island of Filfla.

Goodnight from Xemxija..

Beach Bums

It's getting warmer out here by the day and we've found it very hard to resist going to the beach. Our first stop was a local beach called Golden Bay. It's only about 10 minutes from our apartment, and we were both able to try out the cold mid-March water temperatures. It's a beautiful beach, but definitely more of a tourist spot, and it can get very busy.

After spending a few beach days at Golden Bay, we were able to hike up and over some cliffs that brought us to our new favorite beach, Riveria.

Riveria is a little bit quieter and has some incredible views. The pictures to the left are during our hike over to Riveria.

Riveria (Ghajn Tuffieha) Beach!

There are a lot of beautiful, small hiking trails around Riveria, and when we took Sammy to the beach we stumbled across an amazing sunset hike.

Below is Matty on top of the cliff..daredevil. The next picture down is of Floriana's point guard, Chris Sammut, climbing the rocks. Also a daredevil.
